The Presidents' Lunch

Here's what's going on in the world of REcreate

At this point of planning, REcreate is now like a small child to me. Yesterday, June 9th, Grace and I attended The Presidents' Lunch as guests of Beaumont Main Street. This luncheon honored past presidents of Main Street and city leaders who have helped them to revitalize our downtown area for the past 20 years! It was a very empowering lunch, and there was a lot to absorb. Did I mention that lunch was on the top floor of the First City Building? WOW. Amazing beautiful view!

We got the opportunity to meet a few people and share how we are contributing to our beautiful downtown area. It's a wonderful, wonderful thing to be working with such passionate people who share such vision. This project has been a wonderful way to volunteer my time, I'm learning a lot. Please come to REcreate.....you will be blown away.

REcreate graphics are by dishman/advertising... Thank you very much!

I snagged the photo from this blog, check it out.

Dreamy Dips

Earrings made from turkey feathers. Steve, Carlo's Uncle, killed a turkey. He offered up cleaning the feather's and then gifting them. Yes, I will utilize the beautiful feathers of a turkey!! Ants were also helpers in the cleaning duty. I love the raw process of how the earrings came about, it feels more precious. Man kills turkey + Ants attack and clean = Adornment. The dipped look seals the deal.

I made these last night before heading out to the Cat5 launch. I paired them with a black and white striped tunic, a chunky hand beaded necklace, and over the knee fringe boots. I am looking forward to sharing the other beautiful feathers.

False teeth + turkey feathers

Life is moving briskly, but I'm keeping up the pace! I'm surprised at how much I am improving my time management. Now a days, a full plate doesn't feel so packed full...

Organizing the soiree has really helped me further my communication and organization skills... I love it! This month, I will be selling..... false teeth and turkey feathers! No, really. I've been having some fun playing around with my jewelry lately.... quirky adornments to come!

cat5 launches Thursday!!!!

Repurposed piece

Recycled materials + Quartz Crystal
$20

This combination is very dreamy to me.
I also like that the quartz resembles the shape of Africa.

CASA/ Stellar Treasure

Liz, Holly, & Cam @ Calder Helping CASA

Good morning,

Lots of thoughts. Calder Helping CASA was a good experience. I learned a lot, helped raise money for a deserving cause. The heat was tough, but this was the only time we would be provided with a street closure, thanks Calder construction! I am hoping it can be an annual fundraiser and maybe next year the city will give us a permit for a road closure in the Spring. Thanks again to everyone that helped.

Now, I am focusing on developing Stellar Treasure, it's ideal because I can combine all of my main interests into one outlet. I get to do the creating, styling, and merchandising, which is what I want out of a job. Perfect! I am utilizing the remainder of the summer to build up my collection of goods. I will be using the blog as more of a log for my creative activities and methods.

Lucy put this photo in The Examiner for the follow up story, exciting!
